Pesto pasta


Hope you enjoyed the simple pasta in red sauce posted earlier. Here is another dish prepared with macaroni pasta and leftover parsley leafs.

Pesto is a sauce usually prepared with basil leaves. Traditional pesto sauce contains basil leaves, crushed garlic, olive oil, salt and cheese.

Let see how to make pesto sause with parsely and a creamy pesto pasta with it. 

Ingredients
  1. Macaroni pasta – 250 gms
For pesto sauce
  1. Parsley – ½ cup
  2. Garlic – 2-3 cloves
  3. Grated cheese – 2 tablespoon
  4. Olive oil – 1 tablespoon
  5. Pistachios for garnish
  6. Salt to taste

Instructions
  • Clean and cook pasta in 2-3 cups of water. Drain it in a colander and keep it aside. Take ½ cup of pasta water in a cup, this we will use it.

  • Clean parsely in running clean water and keep it aside
  • Put garlic cloves into a blender and make a paste of it and the add parsley leaves, cheese, salt and olive oil to it and blend well. Pesto sauce for our past is ready J
  • Heat a pan and add cooked pasta into it and immediately add pesto sauce to it stir for 2-3 minutes.

  • Add hot pasta water if the pasta is dry. Garnish with crushed pistachios. Pesto pasta is ready to serve.

Note:
This is plan pasta without any spices. I have added chilli flakes while serving to my family
