Caramel Bread Pudding With Egg

On the occasion of Christmas, I would like to share a recipe of sweet pudding with you, Steamed caramel bread pudding😊. There are different dishes we can make with breads. Bread pudding is one of the bread based popular sweet dish. You can make use of leftover stale bread to prepare this tasty, fluffy, sweet dish. Caramelized sugar on top of the pudding gives a heavenly sweet flavor in addition to the pudding sweetness.


White/ brown/ multi grain breads are used to make this pudding. Taste may vary according to the bread that you use. I have used white bread for pudding and Milk made condensed milk for sweetness.  You can replace sugar for sweetness.

Here is the full list of ingredients and step by step instructions to make the dish.
Ingredients
  1. White bread – 20
  2. Milk maid condensed milk – 2 tablespoon
  3. Cinnamon powder – a pinch
  4. Egg - 1-2 
For sugar caramel
  1. Water - 2 tablespoon
  2. Sugar – 2 tablespoon

Instructions
  • Cut the sides of the bread and tear it into small pieces. Put it in a deep vessel.

  • Add 1 cup of milk into it and mash the breads completely. Use your fingers to mix the milk and bread. There should not be any lumps in the mixture. 
  • Further beaten egg into it and mix well
  • Into it add 2 tablespoon of condensed milk

  • Add cinnamon powder to it and combine all well
  • Prepare caramel by melting sugar in water till the color changes to brown color with stick texture. Pour the sugar syrup into a vessel.
  • Layer bread mixture to the vessel and place it in a steamer.Cook it till the pudding is cooked. In
  • Delicious caramel bread pudding is ready to eat. You can eat with hot or cold.
