Pal puttu is yet another traditional Kerala breakfast dish. It is a version of traditional puttu, the only difference is that instead of water, milk is used to wet the flour. Bring milk to room temperature before preparing the puttu.

Read below section to learn to make this delicious steamed cake layered with grated coconut
- Rice flour - 3 cups
- Milk to wet the flour - 1 cup
- Grated coconut for layering
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Take a deep vessel and roast the rice flour till releases a pleasant aroma. Transfer it to a platter and let it cool
- Add salt to the rice flour and sprinkle milk little by little and wet the flour
- Boil water in the puttu maker. Meantime layer the grated coconut and wet flour in the cylindrical steamer. Place it on top of steamer pot. Once cooked transfer it to a plate.
- Soft pal puttu is ready to serve. Enjoy it with kadala/ brown check peas curry / banana/ cherupayan(green gram) curry and pappadam
