Lapsy/Wheat rava/ Broken wheat Upma

Lapsy is broken wheat or cracked wheat. It is also called as Suji gothambu in Kerala. Upma is a south Indian breakfast dish. Upma can be prepared with broken wheat and it’s a healthy breakfast packed with fiber.

I had never tasted upma with wheat before coming to Mumbai as in Kerala we usually prepares upma with rava/semolina. It is very tasty and keeps you full till lunch time. It is one of the favorite breakfast item of my husband’s and we prepare it home occasionally.
